GE Opal OPAL01 finishes and side-tank choices
The OPAL01 side-tank finish codes share a water and ice routine. Separate the color choice from the package size, counter clearance and lifecycle questions.
GE's exact pages identify three OPAL01 side-tank finishes: Sapphire Blue OPAL01SRSYKT, Rose Quartz OPAL01MUZKT and Carbon Black OPAL01BBZKT. Their product titles and listed package specifications describe the same nugget machine with a supplied 0.75-gallon side tank. The exact manufacturer images differ in finish, not in documented tank or ice-bin arrangement. The family assessment is linked at OPAL01 with side tank.

Tank capacity is not frozen-ice capacity
The 0.75-gallon side reservoir reduces how often water needs to be carried to the machine; it does not add to the three-pound collection drawer. GE describes melt-water returning to the reservoir, not a powered freezer. The Opal 2.0 XPIOX3 is a separate package with a one-gallon XL side tank. That larger water reservoir can further lengthen refill intervals, but it is still not a larger ice basket or a direct water line. If you're weighing a line hookup or a frozen reserve as essential, neither tank's size proves that feature.
Measure the machine plus the side tank
For OPAL01, GE lists the complete configuration at 14.25 inches wide, 15.5 inches deep and 17.25 inches high. The linked manual separately shows the maker body at 10.5 by 14 by 17 inches. The difference is the adjacent tank and package geometry; do not treat the body width as the footprint of the assembled side-tank arrangement. Leave room to open the front drawer, lift and wash the tank, and reach the rear drain tubes. GE's product specification page lists four inches of clearance at the sides and back, while the manual says three. Plan around the larger four-inch instruction unless GE confirms a model-specific change.
Check status before looking for a finish
GE's sales pages currently say these exact OPAL01 models are out of stock and no longer being manufactured, while each Owner Center shows a manufacture date range ending in “Present.” That conflict means the codes are useful for reviewing an owned machine or checking remaining stock, but should not be presented as a clear current-production recommendation. Match the suffix on the machine and verify the tank, base and drain fittings, condition, current support and seller terms. A color photo or clearance banner alone does not establish any of those details.
For a claim-specific comparison, consult the exact Sapphire, Rose Quartz and Carbon Black pages and their linked OPAL owner manual. The manual says performance changes with conditions; do not transfer the product page's unqualified daily-output headline into a warm-condition estimate.
