A useful fit for

A top-access nugget counter where manual refill and draining are convenient and ice is served or separately frozen promptly.

The main tradeoff

No automatic water-line connection; insulation does not provide refrigerated storage, and published weight and dimension orientation need checking.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I get manually filled nuggets with at least1.7lb of collected ice?

Yes. The exact page lists800g, approximately1.76lb, and explicitly says filling is manual rather than pipe-fed.

Does a cleaning cycle coexist with at least1.5liters of collection volume?

Yes. The current basket volume is1.8L and the matching manual documents a fifteen-minute cleaning cycle; collection volume is not ice weight.

Can I require this model to refill automatically from a water line?

No. The exact FAQ explicitly rules out automatic water-pipe filling.

The Euhomy Pearl L1 Max IM039 is a manually filled nugget-ice maker with a top window, a removable collection basket and one main operating button. It makes sense for a household that serves ice regularly and can maintain the water path. Its insulation messaging should be read alongside the manual's explicit statement that it does not refrigerate stored ice.

Understand what Max means for your drinks

The current product specification advertises up to thirty-five pounds of nugget ice over twenty-four hours. That is not higher than the base Pearl L1's current thirty-five-pound claim, and it is lower than the L1 Plus's forty-four-pound headline. Choose from actual capacities and workflows rather than reading the names as a simple production ranking.

The Max's gallery promotes first ice in about five minutes. This marks the start of output, not a full collection basket. The daily production claim does not provide an exact matched room-and-water temperature pair. The manual's operating room range of 50–90°F is an installation range, not evidence that the thirty-five-pound rating is achieved at every temperature within it.

For someone who wants small pieces in iced drinks, nugget shape is the relevant starting point. Someone making drinks around one large clear sphere or square should compare the Rock SE or Rock Plus. The Max does not switch to those shapes merely because its basket looks large.

Collection capacity and refill capacity are different

The product table gives the basket as 1.8 liters or 800 grams of ice, with a separate 1.1-liter water reservoir. The 800-gram claim is approximately 1.76 pounds. Use it as the manufacturer's nominal collection mass; the 1.8-liter figure describes volume and cannot itself establish an ice weight.

The reservoir capacity matters because this is explicitly a manual-fill machine. Euhomy's FAQ says it cannot connect to a water pipe for automatic filling. Open the top window, remove the basket and add drinking water below the marked maximum. Allow room above and around the appliance to perform those steps without balancing wet parts over nearby sockets or other equipment.

The manual directs you to add water when the low-water indicator lights and then press POWER to restart production. When the basket is full, the purple indicator comes on; removing ice clears the condition and production resumes. Those are two different interruptions. A machine that resumes after ice removal can still need you to restart it after a refill.

Insulation is different from frozen retention

One exact-product gallery panel promotes improved insulation. The complete model manual nevertheless says the ice maker has no refrigeration function for keeping collected ice. Its instructions tell you to remove ice in time to avoid melting. The product FAQ also describes returning meltwater to the reservoir while the machine runs.

Consequently, treat the basket as a convenient collection point during a serving session. It is not a substitute for a freezer compartment, even when the machine is plugged in. An insulated wall may slow heat transfer without establishing any particular storage temperature, holding duration or quantity of permanently frozen ice.

If a gathering needs a ready stock, move produced ice to suitable separate frozen storage and check how you will serve it. A large twenty-four-hour total cannot establish what remains ready after several hours of waiting. The distinction is especially relevant if you intend to place the appliance in another room and leave it alone.

One button, several ownership tasks

The matching IM039-NGR/NBG US manual describes a short POWER press for ice production and a three-second hold in standby for cleaning. The cleaning circulation lasts fifteen minutes and returns to standby afterward. Low water, cleaning and a full basket have separate indicators, so check the status rather than assuming every pause means a fault.

Cleaning still involves hands-on steps. The instructions call for removing the basket, adding water before cleaner, running the clean cycle, draining the solution and repeating a cycle with fresh water. They specifically warn against adding cleaning powder to a dry reservoir, where undissolved material could obstruct the water path. Unplug the appliance for manual cleaning, wipe the interior and water filter, clean the scoop, drain fully and dry before extended storage.

The full manual recommends weekly unit cleaning, while the matching quick guide recommends daily self-cleaning; both describe deeper cleaning with ice-machine cleaner every one to three months. Follow the instructions supplied with the exact unit and cleaner, inspect for deposits, and do not treat the longer interval as permission to skip water changes or washing. If unused for a day or more, the manual directs you to drain the reservoir and wipe it dry.

Check working space before installation

The manual requires twenty-four hours upright before initial use, six inches of clearance around the specified sides and rear, an accessible plug and an indoor position away from heat and direct sunlight. This makes a ventilated counter more appropriate than a closely enclosed shelf. The top basket and underside drain also need handling space.

The published dimensions cluster around 8.5, 11.14 and 12.28 inches, but their order is not clearly assigned to axes. Published weights also differ between the current page and the exact manual. Obtain an axis-labeled drawing for the delivered version before relying on a narrow width or low shelf.

Choose the Max for top-access nugget ice, a published 800-gram collection claim and straightforward manual water filling. Compare the Plus for its different access arrangement and reservoir, or the L1 Pro for documented app functions. Choose another storage arrangement if keeping collected ice frozen is essential.
